This, the first and now hard-to-find release on this Manchester-based label, is a strong 12". It marks a natural evolution of the sounds first honed on various Datathief releases: melodic arpeggiated synthlines and fizzing drum machines, with more than a nod to 80s synthpop, mixed with an obvious long-standing appreciation of cinematic horror soundtracks. The Mat 101 remix on the B-side twists the original into a superb moody, spikey electronic number, sounding like the bastard son of computer console noises and some unreleased John Carpenter soundtrack. Criminally slept on at the time - the best of Mancunian and Roman electronics.
