Hoping to be helpfull I think the most detailed difference from the original and limited version and the reissue are described by edgeoftime
"The main differences in the first 500 are that the pictures on the cover are of much higher quality (glossy, actual dark room photos) and the jacket cover is a darker purple. The back left corner has the edition number hand-written in silver ink (in my case, I have 297/500). The manila envelope that holds the inserts has an ink transfer on it—I believe they're different for each. Most of the same inserts are included (different concert bill, additional insert info from Constellation), as is the penny. The "Reverend Gary Davis" illustration and "Faulty Schematics" are there too. That's really about it."

Please read it and control your own copy, in any case if it's not numbered it's only the reissue not this.

Now 708 persons has a 500 limited version nobody has the suspect it's strange? .... I think it's simple: description says NUMBERED COPIES the reissue it's not numbered. Please control your own copy and cancel from this release if not numbered.

Could somebody please help me out - I have been to a Godspeed gig recently and purchased my copy of this at the merch counter. I'm wondering if I got the original or the reissue. There is a sticker that says original LP and there is clearly a print glued onto the cover. But somehow I doubt if I was really this lucky to get the original. What are the other ways of telling the difference please? thx

It is quite interesting how this reissue was limited to 500 copies and all but 2 have been claimed on discogs. Wonder where the other 2 are?

I feel I should ask before editing - has anyone else noticed a never ending loop on the end of side 2? About 3 seconds?
Otherwise, incredible record. Quite different from the CD version; I was surprised to not hear the "that's what the preacher says bit" and other cut out instrumental parts. This vinyl captures the essence of GSY!BE like few others do in my opinion, mostly due to how spontaneous and intuitive it feels.

What I find interesting about this LP version when compared to the later CD release (and indeed the rest of their material), is the almost complete lack of crescendos. It is important to note that the CD release is remixed, re-sequenced and includes two new movements that brought it closer to the familiar GYBE! sound of build-build-buld...crescendo! This LP predominantly features GYBE!'s more droney sound - something that featured less and less in future releases. My guess is that the style shift was a result of their much-lauded early live performances showing a more intense side, which they wanted to document. That's not to say this release is anything less than utterly engaging, and provides an interesting counterpoint to the whole Post Rock movement which so often relies on pure dynamics.
