Reviews & Discussion

Review by deusdiabolus Jun 25, 2005 (edited over 4 years ago)
I'm going to go out on a limb and predict that this is one of the best albums that comes out in 2005. Once again, the Gorillaz manage to walk a tightrope between the silly and the sinister, but at the same time those familiar with the first album will notice that this sophomore effort definitely sounds more mature...just like the promotional booklets and press releases suggest, this is a group that has grown a few years older and considerably wiser. While most of the tracks remain in the same familiar ominous tone as "Tomorrow Comes Today" and "Clint Eastwood", the final two tracks on the album shine like sunshine through stormclouds.
