Everyone knows the Perfecto Mix of Not Over Yet, which is of course one of the enduring classics of house music (love it or hate it). However, we should thank our lucky stars that this 1995 re-release fell right in the heyday of the short-lived "epic house" movement, when it was perfectly acceptable for poppy vocal house records to be given epic make-overs.

The result in this case is BT's "Spirit Of Grace" remix. Over 12 minutes of piano madness and soaring synths that perfectly encapsulate what epic house was all about: energetic, euphoric, extrovert and, well, epic dancefloor music. If you liked this one, take a look at his "Subconscious Freedom" remix of Shiva - Freedom, which is much the same. There's something brilliant about taking cheesy little house records like these and magnifying them into 13 minute dancefloor monsters. If only the notion of epic dance music wasn't thoroughly unfashionable by 2008.

The orinial album I learned to mix trance with, and by far one of the earliest and best known Oakenfold produced club hits. I still throw on both copies of this LP and play around mixing it from time to time, all these years later ;)
