Grace Period, The - Mod Killer

I wouldn't call the mod killer track a blip at all. It has a rocky groove, that could've been a bit more easily grooving, more funky, but then I should say that I arrived at this music coming from a techno/ house/ electro perspective. The sample is just really funny. But most of all there are some really atmospheric orchestral sounds that make a cool combination with the beats and that sample, and it's really nice to listen closely what happens there.

Pretty uniquely for a Static Caravan single (in my opinion anyhow), the B-side here is somewhat better than the A-side and certainly *much* more smooth and listenable for DJ purposes. The A-side isn't actually bad or anything, it's quite fun really with all the mods-and-rockers samples, but among all the other amazing Static Caravan stuff that's come out recently this to me is kind of a blip.
