This is my very first taste of hearing a Grant Green album and I gotta say it is flawless. It's modal-bop jazz at it's best as is right up there with Miles Davis's 'Kind of Blue'. The band is tight and the music is hard bop'n perfect. This will be one of those cases where I know I'll end up buying every album I can get my hands on from this guy because of the power of just one, this one! The Bobby Hutcherson vibes I just love and this album wouldn't be complete without them. If your looking to expand your jazz horizons with some hard bop or modal you have to check this album out.
