Fashioned like a radio broadcast hosted by the fictitious Ziggy Franklen, the tracks on this CD are linked with commercial snippets, stock market updates and hilarious phone in requests. Expanding on their “swing house” sound, James and Nick show us their ability to produce diverse flavors, from laid back grooves (Dark Sky and Smoke Daddy) to jazz fusion (Daughter of the Sun.) But it is their unique treatment of old school samples and new school beats where their brilliance truly shines. Idiosyncratic in all the best ways, this is extraordinary stuff.
