Guardner’s Somedays In My Life partakes of the smooth techno/downtempo for which Elektrolux is known, but his keen sense of rhythm and attention to melody keeps things from drifting off into nothingness. “Someday (In My Life)” starts off with shades of hip-hop before keening into the atmosphere with an ethereal female voice. The harpsichord on “Descent” and the skittering beats on “Heaven Touch” shows his careful consideration of sonic quality, while the light breaks on “Deep In Me” demonstrates that he’s capable of more than just trip-hop rhythms. With such strong qualities, you’ll want to listen to this album more than just somedays in your life.
