Hallucinogen's LSD is probably the single more recognizable and defining goa/psy-trance track ever released. It was so good in fact the Dragonfly released on 2 different 12"s (probably not realizing how huge it would become the first time around as it was a b-side). This second LSD centered release makes up for that with two winners and a so-so track. The original is obviously such a classic that litte more be said outside of, if you don't know it you don't know psy-trance. The Live Mix was made famous by the likes of Paul Oakenfold, but don't let that put you off. The live mix is pretty much the same parts as the original, but obviously performed live, so the mix is rawer, different parts are emphasized more and many of the details and transitions from part to part are different. In my opinion this version isn't any weaker than the original, even if it isn't as polished. The Doof remix on the otherhand is more or less a throw away track. Several people have taken a shot at remixing LSD and with the sole exception of Ott's dub remix, they have all be failures.

Buy it for the Live Mix (and original if you don't have it), listen to Doof's remix when you are bored some night with nothing better to do.

Goa trance: well, I won't admit to liking it and any self respecting fan of 'electronic' music is probably going to side with me. Still, you are missing out if you don't own this. A haunting melodic track of which I never tire. I bow down to Simon Posford's genius.
