I can't say much more than everyone already has: this is the most awesome goa album ever. Unfortunately it led to psytrance, an awfully boring genre. But, if you want psychedelic chill music and a bit of surreal and ethereal thrown in for good measure this is the album to get.

This is by far the cream of the crop when it comes to goa trance every producer of the genre must look at this release with a certain amount of "awe and respect!every track is crafted and shaped to perfection its honey to the ears a magical journey through the best goa the world has heard. The intro to LSD captures the ambivilence surrounding "hallucingenics".The track oscillates up and down and turns full bliss midway through, probably his master piece not forgetting "shamanix" to say these two tracks our his greatest is sacriledge to the other 6 mind blowing tracks on the album there all brilliant and unique even by todays standards if it was released tomorrow it would still be a classic and a great introduction to new people who dont no the genre this album was my entry point i cant help comparing most other goa by this album but the truth is you dont get much better than "hallucinogens-twisted".I would recommend to all lovers of electronic music.

Sonic genius Simon Posford's debut album on his very own Twisted Records leaves goatrance lovers totally shpongled as to what truck they were just hit by. Simon raises the bar for the entire genre by more than a few notches and the end result is a defining Goa CLASSIC!

This album sounds slighly raw compared to his follow up (The Lone Deranger), this doesn't in the least bit make it any less of a masterpiece.

If you haven't heard any Hallucinogen, crawl out from the cave you've been living and go buy a CD now!!

Twisted is the first absolutely awensome album of Hallucinogen published in 1995. Great melodies and rhythm with a lot of interesting sounds and efects. All the tracks are truly incredible. Mix together into nice harmony. This album has already 13 years but is still on good sound level. Simon Posford is a genious musician and sound engineer who created in this case a masterpiece of electronic music. You can not found there any bad track. All of them makes our minds very twisted and visual so we are able to embark on deep music journey.

Twisted is a mile stone in psychedelic music. This is one of the most importand relased in 20th century for all goa's freaks. I'm still impressed of this record.

This was a masterpeice when it came out. When the sample in 'Shamanix' told us 'the way i feel now, i'm not going to sleep for a year..i'm on fucking fire!' , we all felt it too when that warped acid line ripped in. And LSD..nothing more needs be said about what a great tune that was, and still is. In my opinion, some stuff on here hasn't dated so well, but if you want to know what was happening in the underground in 1995, look no further than this.

Simon Posfords sound Defines Goa/Psy Trance, although he's been involved in many other sucessfull projects "Twisted" remains the masterpiece. Faultless dark electronic music it's the soundtrack to the furthest reaches of your imagination. Sumpremely powerfull, and sounds as fresh now (2006) as it did in 1994. Simon Posford deserves every bit of credit as one of electronic music's pioneers.

The Emperor's old clothes ...?

There seems to be general consensus throughout the psytrance community that this is THE quintessential psytrance album. Only briefly acquainted with psytrance in 1995, I didn't get onboard the Twisted waggon back then, however, and didn't like this album when introduced to me in 2000. So, scandalize and ridicule me if you must, I have only gotten to know this album now. But possibly ruining all review credibility what is Twisted doing to fresh ears 10 years after its release?

As with many "dated" releases one has to appreciate the time of making. Even if the style here still comes across as highly psychedelic, it doesn't catch me off guard. At least not at first hand. Time has had its effect. Besides, Posford is loaded with ideas and the tracks never sticks to one theme or mood for a longer time, making it challenging instantly to trip on.

But then when you give into it and convince yourself this is majestic, you start to fathom how breathtakingly impressive this may come across at its best. I heard someone refer to this as your brain on acid. That could be true. You certainly realise what an enormous impact this sound has had on psy music in general, and how Posford's influence is traceable to this day.

So is all the hype justified? Well, I've heard quite a few trance album since this was released, but seldom an album that turnes me on and off this much, or an album with this much to offer. In 1995 this must have been a bomb!

My personal verdict 6 years ago, however, still pretty much stands. This is psychedelic to the extent you have to go ALL in to get it, and mostly I like just a little part of brain to remain close to status quo. Those looking for psychedelic mayheem madness should still have a field day here though.

Not every track on this album holds my attention like 'LSD', but still all these years on, the album still feels fresh and the level of sound manipulation years ahead of anything else I was listening to at this time.

I have the following album, and later work, but this is the one that does it for me.

What does one say about one of THE most important and well loved albums of the genre? Twisted is the album that really defined psy-trance. LSD changed the face of the psy-music world and its never been the same since.

Every track is excellent and the album works as a seemless sonic journey. From the mood setting LSD to the crazy full-on climax of Fluoro Neuro Sponge, to the gentle landing of Sosltice, it is one of the genre's most perfect journeys, topped perhaps only by Simon Posford's follow up effort, The Lone Deranger. Owners of the Twisted records rerelease should be sure to keep playing after Solstice to hear the bonus ambient version of another Hallucinogen great, Angelic Particals.

An absolute MUST OWN

As Simon Posfords project name says... its a Hallucinogen.
If you can enter these sound-realms, you won´t need any drugs to experience his psychedelic masterpieces.
Every track is filled up with great effects, wonderfull melodys and solid bass-and drumlines that will take you on a colorfull sonic-trip. Its a basic in every Psy-Trance collection.
