Crisp, dynamic and probably one of the most impressive electronic releases i've heard in the past few years. Coldfire and golden pines are both masterpieces in many regards . Coldfire is a track of digitally fragmented percussive power sustained by spine tingling orchestral undertones. It is a stunningly designed sound structure of beautiful flowing precision. Golden pines is a strikingly beautiful soundscape with intense melancholic vibes combined with fantastically produced percussive stammerings and glitches of a truely unique format that i have only heard achieved by Hecq. Ghosts is then a wonderful tune with a tribal 2 step feel to it, later breaking into a nostaligally beautiful melody that will be sure to capture you. Overall all the tracks on the release are of a very high standard of production and soundwise, its strikingly impressive. It is relieving to finally hear an electronic release of this standard after a relatively weak few years release-wise in the electronic genre. Thank you hecq.
