The year 1975 takes the Great flautist Herbie into the disco-era. The LP is titled "discothèque" after all! Starting with "hi-jack", Mann's version is very sexy and the flute matches perfect. A great warm-up track from the early disco-era. "Pick up the pieces" is a nice track, quite funky and with nice, soft percussions. Then, Allen Toussaint's (or Bob Crewe?) "Lady marmalade" needs no comment, even if it's not one of my favourites, and the last side of the A-side, "Mediterranean" is a great and happy jazz-disco song. The songs on the B-side are softer with an emphasis on the flute side.
