Hollow Earth's "Dog Days of the Holocaust" is listed as "Ambient, Industrial" but "Death Ambient" just might be more appropriate. In a subtle way the artwork suggests some very unpleasant events that occurred in the last century. Read the title again.
It starts out with a low sluggish sounding voice talking about some kind of a slaughterhouse. That nightmarish sounding speech kind of sets the tone for the rest of the disc as it slowly moves along into some very frightening yet enticing soundscapes.
Michael J.V. Hensley and Jonathan Canady have created a monstrously interesting listen here. Most fans of this genre know that Hensley has released material on the MALIGNANT record label. Canady is also a veteran of this type of sound. Together they create a din that belongs in every Dark Ambient/Industrial collection.
When I first bought the CD the description of it included words like "confrontational" and "disturbing." It is every bit of that.
