This record seems to be inspired by Harold Melvin & The Blue Notes' "The Love I Lost." The two sides sound nearly identical and the lyrics are difficult to decipher, but the drums are great! I hope I get a chance to play this on a big club system someday. People just don't make tracks like this anymore. I'm surprised the record isn't more widely known, but maybe Clone or some other label will get the rights to re-issue it.

This is probably the most poignant Chicago house record I've heard. "Thanks For The Trax U Lost" has the analogue drum chicanery of anything from the classic Trax years with a profoundly melancholic vocoder vocal. Early house provided path-breaking grooves with a counterpoint of sadness and loss.
A beautiful record.
