A stunning slice of '80s soul-electro-boogie. Produced by David Frank and Mic Murphy of The System fame, the first album, Doin It My Way, features Howard's then state-of-the-art, sexy, stunning remake of "Much Too Much," originally recorded by obscure soul-boogie Sass, an NYC-based session group that pre-dated the System by a few months, featuring Mic on vocals, David producing, and even LaLa on keyboards. This rare, sadly out of print reissue reissue is truly a great deal, since it also includes his later album, The Vision, produced by Niteflyte, aka Jam & Lewis in their early peak. All around, a great example of rich, lush, club-friendly 80s soul from an underrated singer.
