This track has the HEAT of a Nuclear Reactor. And for those attempting to MIX this; you'd better bring an equal amount of HEAT to maintain the bodies on the dance floor when the needle hits the record. I was in AMSTERDAM HOLLAND when DJ Marcel dropped this at the club "The It" fresh off the press. When some people hear Techno/House and Dope in the same sentence they often equate it with a drug effect like Extacy. Well this track is so DOPE that you will be addicted like a fiend. The sound is Ground Breaking. The Beats are RAW like sex without a condom and a guaranteed satisfaction that leaves listeners begging for more. It's one of the BEST Productions I continue to enjoy because it also educates.
If there were eleven commandments this would be it: "Thou Shall Play This to The Max".

I remember very well the FIRST time I heard your Remix for Human Resource's "Dominator" in 1991, how it was HUGE; it sounded like the World would never be the same again. I asked myself: "What the hell is that? Cataclysmic!"

The combination between this obscure, underground Beltram version with sinister vocals "I'm bigger and bolder and rougher and tougher in other words sucker there is no other ...I'm the one and only Dominator! I'm the one and only Dominator!" added to the ironical kisses "Muuuah! Muuuuaah!" on the drop sounded so dark, so massively broken, that I sincerely don't think the dancefloors were ready for such an impact at that time...

The more interesting fact is that DJ Mau Mau was the one that played it first and, most impressively, on a mainstream venue called U.S. Beef Rock. That was my first contact with two legends: Joey Beltram, and R&S label.

I did this remix just for plain fun and it was a freebee for R&S.
I thought it was a great track but it could use something "extra". No offense to the original, but that one was not too fast and in my opinion too soft.

So what I basically did was this;
I sampled the voices of the original track (I had no studio take-outs, just the R&S compilation album) and used them repetative like the house classics did. (dominator domi-domi-nator domidominator etc...) I added a loop from LNR for the basis, created new melodies and added some breaks (like if a dj was crossfading other tracks but they where technically impossible)
The breaks I used where; LNR, CJ Bolland, Outlander, DHS.

After Renaat heard it he immediately decided to put it on this release because of it's originality and it's energy.

The mix was mastered on a 4-track cassette!

Amendo Records remixes of "Dominator" by DJ Ghost, now is two years old, but still is a very good, a clean and hard styled remix that is only going to be useful to those who liked it the first time around. With that in mind, this mix rolls out all the punches by leaving the Hoover samples out, and by adding some hard beats and Air raided siren breakdowns. For anyone with an old school mentality, this record is a must have.

This hit the UK charts in December 1991 after HR's Original Dominator release only reached 36 on its first run. This managed to reach spot 18 with the assistance of remixes by Beltram, Bolland & De Wulf. Had it not been competing with xmas releases it would have shot up the chart I believe. It was the first "Hardcore Dutch Rave Anthem" to go offically make it commercially

The Ultimate sound for teh 'Rave Era'! I think this was one, if not the 1st pressing of Dominator. Guido Pernet (Founder & only Original member of HR for thier duration) tells me that famous main riff in Dominator was produced using Synths connected to Guitar Amps...throw Larenzo Nash (The Rapper) into the mix & well...the rest you know! This track is said, partially to link to Hits from Ecstasy...

V-Agent is spot on, Beltram's 'Program 2' Mix (Beltram Mix as it later got labeled and released under) is the most frequently used version as relates to the club scene & perhaps is more infamous than the Original, he produced this in late 91'. As for Trance / House master Frank De Wulf his #1 Mix is much more laid back, smoother in some ways to many. This inspired him to release another remix which almost feels Tribal (Known as De Wulf Mix #2)

The record that established 'Hardcore' as a catchword in the music press at the time. Sounds real slow and dated by today's standards.
Thank god for the re-mixes.

The 'X' on the catalogue number signifies a limited release of 5000.
The rarest copy of "Dominator" there is.

The "joey Beltram Program 2" remix takes this famous tune into breakbeat territory, straight into the UK market.
The "Frank De Wulf" (later known as "#1 mix") mix is without a doubt the slickest version of "Dominator" to date - very Trancey ,with a Led Zeppelin sample
