Reviews & Discussion

Absolutely agree with the Moanerman review. Lets have the more intelligent gritty intense tracks that permanently implanted I-F receptors in our minds. I'd rather have bunker 26, test pilot volume 1, portrait of a dead girl 1 & 2 re-released as a boxset than this collage of mediocre fumblings. DAMN IT where is the non live version of SUPERMAN?!!! I'm sure there are numerous early I-F tracks I'm yet to hear that obliterate these tracks.

I-f - Lost Tracks For Lost Minds... What can I say? It's a rather disappointing six-pack if you ask me. This was presented as the ultimate box with unreleased hard pounding and dirty acid/electro which all acid/electro heads were waiting for.

What we get instead are edits of previous released tracks (and not the best) on several labels from I-f, which I already have and are better in their original versions. The unreleased tracks are forgettable. It's just not an addition that is good enough to complete the incredible hotmix collection.

For those who aren't familiar with the old Reference Analogue Audio label or Acid planet, this is a poor introduction to the violent, grungy and dirty acid from back in the days. I could sum up at least 20 old releases that are mind blowing, but you won't find that sound here. And that's pity because these people will get a wrong impression about it.

Considering the skills and talent I-f has, it could have been a huge release but what remains is a average box where the hype an myth got more attention than the music itself. Quick cash? Don't know, I hope the following boxes will be better than this one and that I'm wrong about this new label, prove it to me!
