I could not think of a better tag team right now, than the combination of the legendary Ron Trent, along with Oaktown’s rising deep house star, Aybee, who in my humble opinion is a proper cross between Chris Gray & the Wamdue Kids. Yet and still, he has his own signature sound, as evident from his previous releases on his own Deepblak record label.

Together, they form the Indigenous Space People. This collaboration is the first of a 5 part series teaming Ron Trent with Aybee in the spirit of the fusion movement in search of new dancescapes. And this first venture is the 17 minute, “Across The Universe”, a spacey, futuristic, deep house cascade, reminiscent of the early Clairaudience sound. It features an infectious, mean bass-line like only Trent & Aybee can produce, as well as hypnotic percussive elements and mucho deep keys. At certain brief moments, the journey progresses in and out of hypnotic states, which will get your head bobbing for sure. At around the 9 minute mark (my favorite part), I had visions of an ultra deep rendition of Lil Louis’ French Kiss!

Unfortunately, the song ends after 17 minutes!
