Ivan Smagghe takes a definite departure from the electro-house beats of "Suck My Deck" and "Death Disco" and brings us a collection of brooding, atmospheric electro and techno with a refreshing minimalist sensibility. It is mixed together with skill, imagination and cohesiveness - even as he brings out The Kills, it all fits together perfectly. It is definetely not for purists, though!
One of the characteristics of a good mix-album is that highlights are hard to name, but if I had to choose I'd go with Iñaqui Marin and Flügel's remix of "Just F**king".
I have to say though, I have seen him dj once since the release of this record and was hugely disapointed, for the particular brand of boring thumping techno which he chose to play was nowhere near as refreshing as this selection.
