Disc 1 - Blue Energy

A re-release of the 1998 goa trance album of the same name. Blue Energy is considered a classic in the trance genre and for good reason. Amazing meladies and samples. Several tracks contain nature and wilderness sounds and really breath life into this production. If you're at all interested in how to properly mix goa trance with ambience then look no further. Jaïa's Blue Energy reeks quality.

Disc 2 - Blue Synergy

As far as I can tell, these tracks are rarities and compilation tracks from the same recording era as Blue Energy. Really nothing here matches the mood and theme of Blue Energy but its a helluva nice bonus to have these Jaïa tracks in addition to the album.

Both releases of Blue Energy are sold out and hard to find now but I would take the time to find this version over the single disc one. The re-mastering and bonus tracks are worth it.

Blue Energy is one of the best albums but Blue Synergy cannot measure up to it. The tracks there are more like progressive trance and somewhat boring. Most if not all of them were already made in 1997 or 1998, they just didn't make the cut for Jaia's first album.

The best one is surely "Sillenium". Then probably "Sentences To Heaven", which unfortunately sounds's extremely similar to and copied off of Union Jack's "Cactus". I also really like "Meditation" at the end. The rest of the tracks are above average good, but a slight let down after hearing their debut album.

It's definitely worth it to get this release for Blue Energy as it's still in print in 2009, and Blue Synergy is a nice added bonus.

I doubt I've ever come across an album as widely praised as Blue Energy. Everyone seems to love this album frequently labelling it a classic of the golden 95-98 goa era. Even I.F.O., Twisted, Mystical Experiences and other classics have their foes, but Blue Energy seems to meet everyone's taste. So how does it fare in 2006 together with Blue Synergy on this 2000 re-issue?

As a bloody statement of what the Goa sound was and is all about!! You simply can't help but surrender to BE's melodies, build-ups, sounds and mindblowing energy. BE tugs you in and run you over. If you're looking for one worthy statement of the classic goa sound, this could be your pick. And add to the 6 psychedelic goa monsters here (2-7) the opening and closing ambient beauties.

Disc 2 Blue Synergy has the ungrateful task of taking over and one can't help but think that Kamarinos and Blanchet must thank themselves today that they chose to add these tracks so soon after the original BE issue! That task would have been WAY to hyper today, but on BS they manage to follow up with tracks that both point back to BE while at the same time adding their own characteristica. BS has a more aggressive sound to it, but places itself nicely in the streamwater of BE. A worthy addition that in itself justifies a purchase of this package.

Which as of this date is still available directly from Dakini Records, mind you! Yes, there is NO excuse.

Jaïa is and will always be one of the very best Ambient / Psytrance artists around. This release consists of two releases, one ambient and one psytrance: Blue energy and Blue synergy, which now fit perfectly together as one album. "Blue Energy - Blue Synergy" is an album with both Ambient and Psytrance influences ranging from the chilled songs like "After The Rain and Maï Maï" to the crazy psychedelic tunes like "Kannibal" and "Sillenium". Blue energy is one of my all time favourite Ambient albums, and Blue synergy is full of old classic Psytrance tracks. Such solid releases are hard to come by, but this one is easily one of the very best albums ever made.
