Hello trance freaks,

This record contains one of the most important trance songs in techno history. no i am not joking, the song follow me is a trance classic.
Follow me combines hard trance, voices and deep bass on 137 bpm.
And follow me containes acid elements too, what makes the track a dance floor burner at any time. So follow me is not one of those trance tracks that runs on and on with the same elemets.

Buy this record ( forget all other songs on it ) and you will understand what i mean !

Cheers to the jam and spoon crew: follow me is your best song ever made.

For this rendition of 'Right In The Night' Jam El Mar & Marc Spoon expanded on the flamencorhythms that was incorporated in the original. The main melody in the is a rendition of Isaac Albanéz flamencostandard 'Asturias'. Here the synthy runs has been stripped off for more percussion based drive and more twangly spanish guitar action courtesy of Carlos Sanchez.

However the real reason for getting a hold of this is the flipside. 'Hispanos in Space' is a really dubbed out ride though big soundscapes. Opening with a big flamenco riff it sets the tone with the hiss forming a sort of nightly ambience. Someway 90seconds in, softer synthtwinklings and dubbed out drums start to form the main track. It's a beautiful ride and one is truly one of those classic Balearic tracks that you pop on and just let go.

Note to be that Leftfield played this one in their now classic 94 Essential Mix but on 33, the riffs and drums just brought a different feel on that speed and it fit perfectly for that passage. Personally i find it better on it's original speed but it does work either speed.

Another Dizstruxshon classic!

The first part of the tune 'Follow me' was pretty much overlooked because it was too slow to mix in with the tunes that were being played at the raves I was attending at that time. the second half of the tune however is a different kettle of fish!

To me it was the sound of 10000 bees on MDMA stuck in a biscuit tin the way that the tune picks up pace and the euphoric sound just keep building and building. this style of pitch changing tune has been repeated but none compare to this trance masterpiece.

'Right In The Night' is well known enough. It was a big hit all over Europe, and pretty much set the mould for female vocal led euro pop-trance. Despite being an excellent track, the eventual resulting deluge of pale imitations has tarnished its once fine reputation.

'Follow Me' on the other hand will not be quite so well known to the wider clubbing populous. The first time you listen to it will come as a shock. It's a monstrous 12 minute plus epic slice of hard trance that likes to frighten old grannies and new born kittens to death! The track builds up over the first 8 minutes or so, taking time to break down into the most amazing hands in the air experience. After about 8 minutes or so, heavy acid squiggles abound and suddenly it takes off - hold onto something that is firmly nailed down. From there on it's a full on journey into euphoric mayhem, finally coming to a close with an even more epic wind down and the final whispered echoed vocal.

Along with 'I Am The Resurrection' by the Stone Roses, 'Follow Me' is the ultimate end of night track.

Skip side a, which is rubbish pop-trance with the kind of terrible pointless vocals that producers seem to think are necessary to have a hit, (maybe they are right) and go straight to "follow me" on the b side.

Fantastic techno/trance with the sound of a 1000 buzzing bees that develops into one of the best breakdowns ever, even the most cynical person would find their arms unaccountably waving in the air.

Right In The Night is a nice song and the "Love Mix" is also nice, but what really stands out is the b-side. Follow Me is one of the most immense trancers i ever heard, it goes straight into action and then break downs but not in the way that is done now. Then after the break down, the track changes direction and goes almost goa and it is when you really realise why this track is so immense.

Right in the Night was the first release of Jam & Spoon with the intention to have a more commercial track (Right in the Night) on the A-Side and a more clubby tune (Follow Me) on the B-Side. Follow Me was a huge clubhit in germany.
Similar happens to their tunes Odysee to Anyoona and Can you feel it. Nevertheless the quality of the so called commercial trax by Jam & Spoon was way above comparing to similar tunes at this time.
