Jamie Jones (2) - Summertime

Just when you thought Jamie Jones went all-abord the trendy techinimal bandwagon he comes back and revives his discography with his new track "Summertime". I predict it will be an Ibiza summer anthem but unlike some of the lousy anthems to make it big in recent years, this one actually deserves anthem status. The vocal will appeal to anyone who's a Prince fan because, well, it really sounds like Prince! Top it off with some really nice outdoorsy melodic keys and deep bassy paino stabs and you've got one hell of a track. We're only in May at this point but I'm reserving this one a spot in my top 5 for 2009. On the flip you've got "You!", a loopy tech houser with a really catchy female vocal. Not as strong as the A side but definitely a track to looped, re-edited, and extended at will. "You!" is an excellent tool for those guys that like to long mix.
