Reviews & Discussion

Rated 5/5
Review by oblaky Aug 03, 2009
Jazzanova proved so right in taking the best ingredients of the 60s/70s soul and jazz with a hint of pop at its best. They go far enough for the tracks to feel confident and right, and handle it masterfully for it to start sound cheezy.
They master it all. The classically soulful arrangements, reminiscent of the subtlety of a Marvin Gay production with the smooth, but crispy sound and delicate instrumentation, everything right down to the lyrics .. this record feels like that special breezy summer day you know something special is about to happen. And you won't forget it till you die. You know when it's happened and you know 20 years on. Uplifting, soothing and moving. But, maybe, above all, effortlessly life-affirming.
My favourite Jazanova record to date.
