Jeff title track came when a time that mood and playability took a backseat to sounds in the minimal click house whatever you want to call it genre. Kudos to Jeff here on his signature piece of work for keeping the house mood throughout the track. Jeff showed to take a up and coming production technique of less is more that everyone was doing but adding a classic mood to it, meshing with old and new with sublime results. Unfortunately the other 2 tracks on here are okay but not standing out during the over-saturation of this period of similar sounds. What should be noted is Ricardo Villalobos remix of Digital Self. Of all the things said about the guy he did make one hell of a remix here. Phat being an understatement. Of his stuff on Perlon this nearly destroys all of it in one track.

fir is jeff samuel's sickest track to date. fir has all the blips and squelches of a track that i love and that i find sadly lacking in the techno or electronic music of today. anyways, this track is sick! the villalobos vew remix is kind of lacking something special. other 2 tracks are a tad more mellow, but really nice tracks to listen to.
