Jiri.Ceiver makes some buckwild IDM for his Harthouse debut, _Head.Phon_. “HVB,” possibly the best track, throws in some frenetic acid lines into a jittery rhythm that never lets up the relentless intensity. “Trental400/5,” on the other hand, has a subdued and crunchy thrum. The twisted acid beats return on “Vacui” (but with a more staccato pace) and on “Ratio,” allowing the shorter tracks to the bridge between the major works with a certain level of hiss, giving the album cohesion. “Osaic” grinds slowly, like a robot performing its inevitable function, leading to the nearly silent “T.Tne Poise.” A unique and fascinating album.
