I finally bought the vinyl, not for the techno, rather for the classical masterpiece "The 1st" A spine melting 7 minutes 05 of beautiful melancholic adagio with instant effect. I think possibly too there is some similarity between it and the music in Gattaca scored by Michael Nyman (of the Peter Greenaway films: "The - The Cook, The Thief, His Wife And Her Lover", and "A Zed & Two Noughts", and the re-scoring of the 1929 Dziga Vertov film "Man with a Movie Camera"), which adds to the impact. 5/5 for The 1st.

Its such a great techno album. From The Beginning it takes you to the dancefloor and you never want to leave it. There are tracks like "the warrior" or "the fool" that are just dancefloorburners, compared to deep tracks like "the last" or "tree of life" which in my opinion is the track where you can taste the mind of jh at the most. I guess this is an album which anyone who believes in techno besides minimal should have.

A great techno LP. Thoroughly enjoyable from beginning to end. Similar to a DJ set it gets you locked in, takes you up and down and round then brings you down at the end.

All excellent tunes though Magician seems dull compared to The Fool and others, and the almost classical piece on the collaberaion with Ralph Hildenbeutel sits strangely with the rest of the LP but as an exit tune you can see why its there.
