The Door was the first John Askew production I heard courtesy of some Paul van Dyk sets sometime before the official release date.
To me this track is perfect Trance and the output of John Askew and his Discover labels and sub-labels has continued with this trademark sound.
The Door has great core elements. The solid bass kick, driving bass line and percussion. The melodies are uplifting without any hint of cheesiness. The track is allowed to breath without the need for in your face vocals, instead a haunting snippet of vocal drifts in the background.
A classic Trance track that fully deserves a 5 out of 5.

The Door is a brilliant slice of trance, with a solid kick.
But the real beauty comes in the form of a smooth breakdown with gorgeous faint vocals. Then after the break the solid kick returns. A great piece of contrasting trance. Askews best work by a mile.
