Apparently some like this track a lot, so I bought it with pretty high expectations. Turned out to be a letdown for me. It's a good track, but not great, really. Layered synths and tight beats keep a nice pace, but the track suffers from a rather strange structure. It runs along for a while, builds up to a nice enough takeoff... And then it's simply over! I mean, this track deserves to be twice as long. The way it is now it's nothing but a decent filler track, sorry :/
For every 50 or so hard trance/hard dance tunes released, only one or two tracks have any intelligence or emotion.
And then there is this piece of work. Words fail me. Each time I hear this brilliantly crafted tune the hairs on my nape stand on end. Every time!!
Probably one of the best, and time enduring tracks to come out of the hard dance scene, Phaze 1 has a great breakdown and the eventual build towards the end is fantastic.
