Many months before the release of this hit record, party people at the legendary Ravezone Montini had the privilige to witness Franky Jones spinning it. And the crowd loved it. People still love it after 15 years!
Personally, I never understood why this was that big of a hit and certainly not in the hardcore scene. Too spacy and not enough bass.
I like the Modeselektor remix of The First Rebirth better, but hardcore/acidcore producer G303 has an incredible acidcore remix in his live-set.
G303 release this!

I always considered this tune as "anthem' for all generations. Even if the tune is almost 15 years now, it always remains what Belgium is proud for. You can never go wrong with it if you hear this during a party. It brings you a very hard bassline like old hardcore combined to some kind of deep elements closer than trance music. It has been played for the first time at cherry moon by Yves Deruyter in 1994 and he still plays it when a Retro Party take place over there.

Totally agree with the previous reviewer's comments. This a powerhouse anthem that starts with its long epic intro. The epic intro is then perfectly supplemented with a pounding base that allows the track to build and fall in perfect melody. The strings are uplifting, without being cheesy, which is a winning combination that is so rarely achieved in my humble opinion.

This was caned by the likes of CJ Bolland at the Orbit in Leeds and still sounds fresh today.

I totally agree that the remixes on Prolekult by the likes of Red Jerry are inferior, althoogh the original version does feature (albeit the version is not as DJ friendly as the Bonzai version).

To me, this record, until this day, is very special. Almost unparalled.....

All sorts of memories emerge from my brain when I think of the many awesome nights I've heard it play, for an example in Club X, Brasschaat, Belgium...
The sheer energetic drive which will totally devoure your mood to 'just stand there and watch' is unlike anything I have come across ever since.

Back in the day it was a guaranteed floorfiller and if someone decided to play it at a event today, I would still stump my feet. And with me, most of the people with a deep respect and a fond memory for better times, would do the same, I'm sure.....

If you are looking for the best hardtrance record ever, look no further this is it. When 'The First Rebirth' was released nobody liked it. It even got worse: when Yves Deruyter played the track for the first time in the wellknown hardtrance club Cherry Moon (Lokeren, Belgium) the crowd just left the dancefloor. Nevertheless time and audiences proved that this tune was one to recon with. The track has balls and cuts straight to the spine. Impossible to stand still on this belter. So, raise your fists, feel those striking riffs and tear up the floor... Massive energy.

If you listen good to this record you wil hear that this record is live recorded with a syntheziser. It's like an orchestra and has made a deep impact for the hardcore scene. This is still one of the greatest works ever.No comments!

this is the hard trance track that defines an entire era. The reverb on the drums, the lush strings chords and unmistakeable riff make this an all time classic. All the remixes are crap though and have never done the original any justice at all!!!!
