Dutchman Joris Voorn recently has been making a name for himself with the the Lost Memories 12"s, but it's this EP that's worth seeking. Over four tracks, Voorn establishes a finely polished sound that is both versatile and textured. Compositionally, the tracks keep to fairly uncluttered structures, which in this case prove to be effective. "Take Off" is an aggressive number centered around energetic synth lines, while my pick of the batch is "It Ain't Our World," dominated by a tremendous chord, with a vocal sample appearing exactly twice, urgently reminding us that this world in fact does not belong to us.
