The selection is pretty good, the energy never drops once, and as always with Jules, the programming is spot on. It builds and builds. CLubbers of my generation often cite this as being one of the "the must have" compilations, and is a great reminder as to just how good the whole 1999 era really was.
I was a big big Jules fan at the time (and i still am) and the tunes reflect exactly what he was supporting on his radio shows at the time (friday and saturday nights). He was one of the first to support Azzido Da Bass' "Dooms Night" (Timo Maas Remix), and a funky workout from Armin Van Buuren on Wamdue Projects' "King Of My Castle", then he plays the more bizarre house cuts which Jules really made his name of the back off like Dial M For Moguai "Bang The Drum" and Mitch & Mart "Getup". The mixing is solid aswell, considering all DJ's were using back in those days were a set of Technics and a mixer.
Of course, with the success Jules was having, the inevitable jealousy/backlash started and he was tarnsihed as a cheesy dj, Trance was branded as toytown cheese by the prog massive, but one would urge one to listen to this mix and tell me he's cheesy. Class compilation.
