Say what you want about JT trying to act black. "Cry Me A River" is a 21st-century pop/R&B masterpiece. Sorry, all you purists. This sports one of Timbaland's most memorable instrumental arrangements ever, and the vocals also stick with you for a while - maybe since they were directly at Ms. Federline. Wonder what'll happen if he calls it off with Cameron. Until then... Dirty Vegas and Junior's mixes don't help out the song much (but DV's is far better). As a U.S. bonus, you get the stellar B-Jaxx & D-Dish mixes of "Like I Love You" - each excellent in their own right.
However, just where the A-side fails, the B-side wins. The Basement Jaxx pull off a brilliant mix with a subtle wibbly acid line running throught it - in fact it reminds me of the one used in Try Again by Aaliyah. The Deep Dish mix is also excellent but not quite as good as the BJ's.
