Oh blessed budget bin! Thanks for hiding this unassuming digipak until I could pick it up on a whim for $1. (I know of the Gooom label) I popped it in my car stereo to give it a shot. During the opening fanfare my index finger involuntarily poised itself over the FFWD button. Then, abrubtly, the intro was gone and a woman's voice intoned "One." And the beat kicked in. I'm hearing Motorik techno as my foot presses further down on the gas pedal.
I was surprised by every track, which definitely share a common theme of living people creating music with machines while at the same time getting in fights with those machines and pulling plugs in the middle of songs, only to immediately have another one ready to go and bring in a new element. So a listen to Adieu A L'electronique gives one a disjointed feeling, but the songs never even get close to abstract territory that doesn't capture your attention. And they vary wildly!
This is some tribal minimal/maximal electro techno organic F the mainstream type music. And with that said, it will not fit into any easy categories. And there are no bands with which to make easy comparison. How this was overlooked by the underground is a mind scrambler, and so is the music here.
