"Dirty South Dirt" is a percussive house track with a tense, but melodic atmosphere that brightens up more and more towards the end. Unfortunately, the short running time makes this track only a mini-drama and no epic house track, which it could be. I really like the 7inch as a format, but for this kind of music it's a rather odd choice. Also the "Anticipation Dub" on the B-Side with its haunting vocal samples would deserve a longer mix. Omar S' decisions as a label manager seem a bit strange to me sometimes, but that's also a part of what makes FXHE so unique. This is raw analog house music at its best, don't get bothered by the 7inch format.
