"Conscious" is a typical Kai Tracid release with known instruments and known arrangements. Maybe some people complain about lack of ideas, but nonetheless I love this track. In contrast to the earlier singles the melody of "Conscious" seems dark and threatening. This goes well with the bassline...
The Kan Cold Remix surprisingly starts with a breakbeat and a very quiet melody in the background that has no coherrence with the main theme of "Conscious". After about a minute the breakbeat stops and a continous bleeping leads in the main part containing the typical techno beat. Kan Cold's known "Saw Bass" is also included. But later the similarities to the "Energy Mix" become very big.
The two tracks are very good, but the fact, that the record is spinning from the inside to the outside is very nerve-racking if you own an automatic turntable. If you put the needle to the inside, the turntable "thinks" that the record has finished, lifts up the needle and puts it back to the holding device. I always have to be very careful and patient when I wnat to hear this record.
