Reviews & Discussion

Sometimes I think of mix discs as a snapshot into how the DJ is feeling at that particular time of his/her life. My guess is that Ryan Raddon here was feeling pretty good while making this comp, which is, for me, one of the best compilations in recent memory. Pretty smooth, seamless mixing with just enough variety to keep the listened audially (is that a word?) entertained. Yeah, the Dirty South mix of "Sorry" was already ubiquitous when this was released - still sounds great to me. But kudos for using the Classic Mix of "I Found U" that not many people may realize exists. Of course Kaskade's own mixes and productions here, especially of Nelly Furtado and his Roan offshoot, show a lot of creativity here. The addition of the Martin Brothers and Milton Jackson tracks also proved to be a nice curveball. And that Dave Spoon mix of "Big Fun"? Why is this not a major global hit? Plus, I love the font that's used on the sleeve - it's so unique, much like this release. People willing to try something different from their usual cup of tea should take a sip of this Jolt-cola-sized mix. Kaskade has proven he has the chops behind the decks as well as behind the boards.
