Another 12" cementing why Kemal & Rob are highly revered amongst fans of the techy sound in drum and bass. This is the first release on the pairs' short-lived (but widely acclaimed, and highly sought after) Negative label. A side "The Mummy" is a percussion driven, middle-eastern infused roller. Perfectly balanced, it's groove and heavy suspense work you without smacking you head on.
On the flip is Kemal's solo offering "Bleed". Growling acid stabs, cavernous bass, and seriously disturbing cackles accompany a guttural main drum loop which switches up in all the right places.
Essential listening.
Kemal's Bleed was a big massive favourite tune of mine back in the day, first heard on a promo mix done by the man himself, and it still sounds fantastic. Pretty minimalistic, overdriven and plain sinister stuff, simple yet dark - and it didn't aged a bit over the years. The other tune (done with Rob Data) Mummy is also worth checking, but my money is still on side AA. Definetely 5/5 - and it's a shame that Negative Recordings didn't last longer.

This is an extremely rare 12" and containing 2 huge cuts from two of the best producers of the late 90's.
The previous reviewer has done a superb job in describing the job & i must say that 'The Mummy' is just a superb tune which sounds amazing today & puts many producers of today to shame. It is a nice techy roller which just rolls & rolls.
The flip 'Bleed' is a growling techy bass number which perfects the sound of techy drum & bass in the 90's. This tune has influenced many recent top producers & certainly 'Phace' who have used this tune to perfect their sound.
Lastly i picked this up for £3 in a boot sale recently! Can't believe my luck!!
