Ken Ishii's early work as Rising Sun and Yoga get re-released here on _Green Times_, an album that showcases Ishii's more ambient side. The electronic chirping and thick bass hits on "Haze" come under a steady if subdued rhythm (the "Blind Mix" of the same track goes for light breaks instead), while "Ocean View" swirls in the seas of Detroit. The music here is bucolic, even with the kick drums of "Switch of Love" and "A Lipper in the Ocean" providing solid beats over which the synth patterns are laid. A gentle and soothing album.
I recently found this used and my copy came with a bonus 3" CD featuring "Solar Man" (SBLP001). the CD is the same shade of sea green like the Green Times CD. I've seen copies of this listed on ebay but without this bonus 3" CD. By the way my copy opens up to fit both CDs inside. I don't know if there's just a single digipak tray release. Oh, and the music on this release is awesome. If you like early R&S/ Apollo releases than this CD will appeal to you!
