"My Dogan" is Kettel's second album for the always stunning Sending Orbs label. Whereas "Volleyed Iron" focussed on Ambient sounds only, and "Through Friendly Waters" was IDM/Downtempo, "My Dogan" combines both styles and is all the better for it. There are no filler tracks here, and all of them have extremely beautiful melodies. Some tracks even have acid in them, which makes them even more appealing. The last two tracks "Choo Choo India" and "He's His Own Man" finish off the album in a truely gorgeous fashion, Ambient tracks that are as good as if not better than anything on "Volleyed Iron". Overall this is one of the best albums I've heard this year, and if Sending Orbs can keep coming up with releases as good as this, they will be unstoppable!!!

Truely wonderful album, very happy and uplifting sounds, never fails to cheer me up when I'm feeling down. My Dogan sounds like a combination of Through Friendly Waters and Volleyed Iron, but Kettel has matured alot since his last release, now the drum programming is more solid and the melodies even better. The ambient pieces between the more uptempo ones make it a real journey just the way I like it. This album hasn't left my player since I got it, it's probably the best album I've heard this year.

Reimer Eising, aka Kettel, scores again with the uplifting, and very inventive, "My Dogan". There is so much complexity, innovation and depth to his music that the old comparisons to Black Dog, Plaid, Autechre et al, just melt away. Other electronic musicians will be compared to Kettel. The programming is crisp, melodies sturdy, keyboard, especially piano, powerful. Are the female vocal choruses real or virtual? I played this CD five times in one week and there are devilish new treats to be discovered with each replay. Very highly recommended.
