I am owner of the two versions of this recording and I have to undercover some well kept secret. The differences between the two versions are not only on the covers ("holographic logo" vs. "Kraftwerk on stage" plain picture) and the added video content in the enhanced version... Dear Kraftwerk fans, the mix on this two versions are slight different, being the more noticeably the added reverb and delay in the "non holographic" version. The addition of these effects ends with a remarkable slappy sound on the drum beats! Even if it is possible these days to add effects in the mastering stage, in my oppinion this is not the case. The effects are clearly added to the drum parts and this way can be achieved only in the mix. Ask "Kling Klang" for details... (In addition, the panned pad in the intro distorts: very bad at this pro-level!)

As a double -pack, this record is not really up to muck. Take away the Underground Resistance mixes and you have a double A-side to die for. The Orbital mix takes a Kraftwerk track and makes it what it should be to such great effect. It pays homage to the original so much but with an underlying in-imatable Orbital style. A real crowd pleaser (tested many times). The Francois K mix is superb deep chugging house that can be likened to Abe Duques 'What Happened'. Perfectly executed underground house music for those in the know. The UR mixes are just bang, bang, bang for the sake of it. They have done nothing creative with the track at all. They had 2 goes at it for God's sake. I like Underground Resistance but this is acyually offensive to Kraftwerk.

The DJ Rolando mix of Expo is amazing.
The track is full of staccato percussion and swirling synths.
It has a classic Detroit style synthed hand clap throughout.
A nice little guitar funk that flanges subltely.
It's got enough trance funk energy to give you goosebumps.
The distorted voice sample is great: "So electric...Germany. So electric...Detroit".
A very trancey track that definitely has DJ Rolando's infectious sound all over it.
I can listen to this track over and over and it doesn't get old.
A good late night track.

Nearly a decade after their previous release, Kraftwerk returned in 1999 with a 3 second long jingle for the world exposition of 2000 in Hannover. The bit became a new song and was released as this single. Later on the track was remixed and renamed to "Planet Of Visions".

Both sides are labeled 33rpm, but B-side is actually 45rpm.

I could talk about Kraftwerk all day and night but what spurred me to write about this one is because I was very interested, right off the bat, to find out what kind of treatment the various artists would have given it. The real stand outs are the Francois K. and UR remixes. For some reason, the UR mixes don't particularly feel like they really used much of what was in the track, but it still shows just how awesome these guys respect and revere the band. The Francois K. mix just bowled me over. Really, really good.

I think that the Oribital remix is much better then the rest, much more Krafty futurism feel in it. It also got the uniq Oribital style.
All the others are just usual boring house remixes.
Anyway, non of those remixes can compit the original :)

The remixes on a2 and b2 do not belong to Underground Resistance (Mad Mike). On the cover you can read the intern ur numbers and 039 is The Infiltrator Andre Holland. Easyly hearable, if you know his productions on UR.

The remixes by the Underground Resistance crew are amazing, especially the DJ Rolando one. The added vocals are welecome and show the close relationship between the sound of Detroit and the sound of Germany.
