Damn, i underratd this album for so many years and don't really know why !!! It was only last week that i made a playlist for a CD to burn for a friend, which i transfered to my iPod and went with it for a good walk through town. I collected the complete Westcoast side plus 3 trax from the Eastcoast CD for that CD-Playlist . This album got some of the finest G-Funk Beats and lots of tight melodies, such as an early version of "Ho's a Housewife" (which appeared later on DR DRE's CHRONIC 2001 with additional vocals by my man DEVIN, Tha Dude) and the single Hits "We Can Freak It" and "Fresh", just to name a few. The concept is very unique . One CD for the Westcoast with Beats by Daz, Soopafly, DJ Battlecat etc AND another CD for the Eastcoast with guest-rappers like Buckshot (2 deadly CEO's) and Noreaga over Eastcoast Beats. Even this Eastcoast CD has a lot of good songs and is nice to listen through without skipping or programming too much. The real Gem however are the 12 Trax on that Westcoast CD : all with bumpin Bass,Synthie-lines, harmonies and lots of funny and explicit lyrics. A very good album for a debut, that only gets outshined by Kurupt's masterpiece "Tha Streetz A Muthaf***a". But one could even argue about that.
6 years after the release date KURUPTION still sounds fresh and will bring satisfaction for those who love their music the G-Funk way.
