While the original DAFT PUNK IS PLAYING IN MY HOUSE stomps into your ears and feet whether you like it or not with its irrepressible punk-funk, when Soulwax get their hands on the LCD Soundsystem track, they make a much more traditional dance track out of it. Well, traditional in that there's a consistent kick drum, but it's certainly more stripped-down, but with a build that'll drive any crowd crazy. Play it in your own house and see how people react.
The Soulwax Shibuya Mix sounds like a poor remix of a Daft Punk Discogrphy in one song! Kidding, this is a great mash of some of Daft Punk's famous hits (Oh Yeah, Aerodynamic, HBFS, Burnin'). Then the actual remix of the original song comes into play with the use of more cowbells (is there some obsession cowbells on these guys?) halfway through the song, and still making the remix sound good.
Overall, quite a good record to just sit down on a lazy day and just listen to.
