Lady Sovereign - Random - The Remixes

Lady Sovereign's has got the hype thanks to the UK red tops and it's nice to see Casual have used this to their advantage. Plus the appearance on Julie Birchall's Chav friendly Sky One TV prog no doubt helped put back the official realease date a week [now 14th March] to cope with the expected demand. Chav's, Townies, NEDs everyone. This is just a great single with wide appeal with plays from everyone on the Beeb alone; from Westwood (3 weeks on the trot), Gilles Peterson, Pete Tong to Zane Lowe and Steve Lamacq!

There's some great lines as you'd expect from "the UK’s cheekiest lyricist" but my favourite is Riko's contribution from Brixton HMP “…You’re not American you’re raving, you’re ranting/the closest you’ve been to US is Southampton/So stop with your US talk blud you’re ramping/You’re joking and you’ll get your neck back broken/Stop with the yankie talk be well spoken…”

The remix from A. Rucker & Sindens is ‘smooth’ but in a good way.
