Solo album from frequent De-Phazz collaborator, produced by De-Phazz himself. Instead of his regular swingin' jazz style, De-Phazz opts for a more moody atmosphere. Barbara Lahr's vocal delivery is the standout, though -- very Weimar-era cabaret. Several of the songs were inspired by famous poets -- William Blake, Sylvia Plath, William Carlos Williams -- which elevates the lyrics above typically insipid sentiments. Some bizarre tracks ("Defective Poem"), but some stunning tracks as well ("Laughing Song" and "Ships Will Disappear").
