If I had to name the genre crossing anthem of this decade, it would be this. No, not only that, this is the house music anthem of this decade! Supported and hammered by everyone from deep housers to techno heads, 'The Sun Can't Compare' is a modern classic and the house house anthem of the new millennium. Larry Heard, the grand daddy of house music, makes it so clear that he can still dominate house music and also with style. The subtle use of acid, the sensual lyrics, the hypnotizing rhythm, yes we have it all. Pure slice of musical heaven. I've always assumed that it is some kind of perverted joke that 'The Sun..' was pressed on the B-side since the A-side… well, honestly, I haven't even heard it. Larry, I salute you.

'The Sun Can't Compare' is a beautiful mesmerizing tune combining subtle acid house (with very carefully selected and crafted beats and atmospheres) with a very beautiful soulful vocal.
Very emotional and driving and still stripped down and powerful, which explains that it was played by all jocks in the know in 2006 (from minimal to techno to deep-house to retrofuturists), making it a real 'underground crossover' jewel.
