Leila K ‎– Ça Plane Pour Moi / Check The Dan

This song was originally a huge hit for French Pop-Punk star Plastic Bertrand and Leila K. producer Denniz Pop had a hunch that a reworked version of it would fit her punked-up Rap style as shown with "Open Sesame". While sounding absolutely huge, it was done the usual Denniz Pop way back then: a rhythm box and a sampler as basic elements. Leila el-Khalifi's family came from Marocco, where French is a second language - she had no problem in managing all those tongue-twisting words at a machine gun tempo! Rapper Deep Fried (Herbie Crichlow) adds to the proceedings most convincingly, and was an essential collaborator for Leila K. in those days.

At Mega, we then got a DAT by courier of the track in its various versions and played it on our huge JBL speakers at earthshaking volume. Awesome... stunning! IMHO, this track can easily be on Denniz Pop's (Dagge Volle) Top Ten achievements!

It is not JUST a cover version of some old song... its lyrics fit Leila like a perfect glove.
