One of the all time great tunes of the day; which, given the right crowd still stands up well today. Featuring awesome production skills. Libra, a pseudonym of Brian Transeau, better known as BT; who is of course an American with a dodgy haircut (sorry mate). He was years ahead of the American market with this one. Hence, it's release in the U.K (where it was immediately huge), a year before it's U.S release. Therefore, it's the Platipus release that fetches higher prices than its U.S counterpart - and they certainly are high!! But if you're just after one or another of the mixes on a compilation, rather than the cd single, they are pretty easy to find. To my ears, the Granny Mix is the one to look for.

When i’ve heard this title in its original mix in the spring of 1995, i knew from the beginning, it was love at first sight. J
A shame i didn’t know at that moment the title and/or artist and so i had to wait another 1,5 years until DJ Dag played the Granny Mix of it in the HR3-Clubnight-Radioshow and so I had the chance to buy this release at our local recordstore.

Looking backwards the Original Mix was one of the most influencial tracks in my musical evolution, because it showed me that there is also other good music than the, for that time typical Hardtrance music of around 140-160 bpm, and it contained housy elements as well.
This title brought me much closer to the “Groove-Feeling” than all “The Bomb”, “Sex on the Streets” and “I believe” and all other House-Tracks of that time way back when together.
A milestone.

I’m not sure, if I should laugh or cry about the fact, that the Granny Remix was part of the Soundtrack of the teeny-movie “American Pie".
It just shows how successful this title was.
Even I like this mix too, it doesn’t reach the magic of the Original imho.

'Granny's Epicure Mix' has entered the trance hall of fame as one of the all time greats. It features all the usual Platipus hallmarks - squiggly psy 303s, slamming bubbling beats, epic soundscapes, and all round tripiness. The original vocals are kept, but never swamped by all the loud production around them. Compared to this remix the original really does sound somewhat 'tame' and even unnecessary which is somewhat surprising for a Brain Tranceau production.

This remix was used to great effect in the movie American Pie.

This record is definitely a trance classic. All of the mixes are great, but the Ferry Corsten remix was probably the most popular. That mix was featured in the movie Groove, and can also be found on the soundtrack. Very uplifting, epic trance without being cheesy.
