Just when I thought Lifelike and Kris Menace's Discopolis could not get anymore remixes another 12" comes out. I think the original mix of Discopolis is a superb and fantastic track but I had been unimpressed with all other interpretations and remixes thus far. I was skeptical about this release becuase most of the remixes, including the Chris Lake remix here are really not that different from the original mix. I decided to purchase this vinyl anyways though as I love the original so much, and that turned out to be an extremely good decision.

Toby Flowerz Re-Rub adds so much to the original without drastically changing the track. When you hear the Re-Rub it's still immediately recognizeable as Discopolis, but it has a much heavier and louder feel to it. The original mix of Discopolis absolutely pales in comparison to the Toby Flowerz Re-Rub. The loud and infectious synthesizer and resampling of the original melody completely destroy dancefloors. The breakdown and buildup at the end of the track is nothing short of epic.

Perhaps now that the Toby Flowerz Re-Rub has been released an end can be put to the remixes of Discopolis. I didn't think the original could be improved upon this much but Toby Flowerz absolutely proved that wrong. If Discopolis is finally retired in terms of remixes, there is no better way to go out.
