"Smile" is a neat track buoyed by heavy use of a classic sample from Soul Brothers' "Free Soul." Unfortunately, despite the enjoyable sing-song chorus, the verses are marred by ineloquent, chav-ish lyrics. I've got nothing against vulgarity, but Allen could have made "Smile" into something with more staying power than this fleeting bit of otherwise pretty pop.
