The best two drum and bass tracks I've heard in three years. 'One Of Them' starts in a similarly epic vein as Dom & Black Sun Empire's 300 movie sampling 'Sparta' then charges headlong into what was called in ye olden days 'Neuro Funk' bouncing back and fore between the titular sample. Like a workout track for Honda's car manufacturing robots. Then the epic strings come back in again - simple but dear God its so effective. Rather than plundering gore-porn movies for samples (yawn) I can imagine Hostel III might use this as a background track. In an ultimately futile chase-sequence perhaps?
'Demolished' again mixes both epic and ominous strings with futuristicly rhythmic beats. In my head I'm playing Crackdown to this, running full pelt across rooftops - rocket launching trucks to pieces. Superb.
Of the dozen and a half Limewax tracks/mixes I've heard these stand head and shoulders above the rest. Not heard it yet, but I wonder if Part One is just as good?
